for the Intelligent

Gaming Assistant Zack

Zack - The intelligent Gaming Assistant for
Desktop and Mobile

Zack is an intelligent gaming assistant that lets users focus on what matters most - enjoy gaming! He collects news, analysis gameplay data, and delivers compelling live guides for the users' favorite games.

As the Design Lead & Manager, I was responsible for a Team of Product Designers. Together we were tasked to with the concept and design of the mobile & desktop applications.

Planning a scalable Design for Desktop & Mobile

Given our target audience of PC gamers, we knew that Zack had to work seamlessly on both desktop and mobile platforms. To achieve this, we developed a responsive design system that would deliver a high-quality experience for both platforms.

Our approach was to use a card system that would allow us to deliver a mobile feed and a dashboard for the desktop application while reusing design assets and maintaining consistent interaction patterns for each game.

Creating a personal gaming assistant that feels alive

One of our main goals for Zack was to give the assistant a distinct character so that the experience would feel as real as possible, like having a personal conversation with Zack whenever the user interacts with him.

To achieve this, we spent a lot of time developing Zack's personality and voice. We also incorporated features such as voice control and live chat support to enhance the personal assistant experience.

Crafting a personalized experience while leaving the user in control

To decide what content was delivered to the user, it was crucial to understand the users behavior, interests, and incorporate their feedback into the experience. To help reduce the amount of work for the user, Zack was able to scan the device for games and track gaming behavior. To give the users more control over the experience they could manage their preferences and give feedback to the content provided by Zack.

What I learned from Zack.

Through our work on the Zack project, I learned the significance of comprehending users' behavior and preferences while designing personalized experiences. By integrating features that enabled users to manage their preferences and give feedback, we refined the content we delivered, resulting in an improved overall experience. Additionally, I understood the value of creating scalable design systems that could operate across various platforms and themes.
